Dr Dicksheet begins 'plastic  surgery camp

Patients with cleft lip and other facial deformities flocked to the free plastic surgery camp held by renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Sharad Kumar Dicksheet on Sunday.

More than 1200 patients sought registration at the Karim Manzil camp in Hyderguda. After an examination of the patients, they were taken to the CDR hospital for surgeries.

Police Commissioner P Ramulu in his inaugural address at the function commended Dr Dicksheet for his belief that the privilege of helping the needy is more valuable than any material reward.

The free plastic surgery camp, organised by the Indian Institute of JCSU eo ara u r J c e Management-Ahmedabad (IIMA) surgery camp in Hyderabad on Sunday. ' Alumni Association in co-ordination with CDR Hospitals will continue till Feb 8.

Most of the cases that were registered at the camp were cleft palate and cleft lip cases, besides a few other cases of facial deformities. "More patients are coming in for registration, but to accommodate them all is difficult and Dr Dicksheet will be available only for three days' said S V Ramana Murthy, Joint Commissioner of Police and Member of IIMA Alumni
Association. The camp can treat a maximum of 500 patients. Nearly 30 Seva Dal Members from Sri Ganapathi Satchidananda (SGS) Ashram, Oindigu) and NC (' cadets from Keshav Memorial High School, Narayanguda, volunteered to assist the patients at the registration counter.
