RAJIV SWAGRUHA HOUSES TO COST LESS
The State government has been actively considering reducing the cost of a unit of Rajiv Sagruha scheme by 25 percent, the Minister for Housing, Mr Shilpa Mohan Reddy, has said.
Speaking to mediapersons after the Chief Minister''s review meeting on the Housing department, Mr Mohan Reddy said that the government was contemplating to slash the price of houses as the marker price of the land has come down in the recent times. A decision in this regard would be taken soon, he added.
The Minister also revealed that an inquiry was going on into the alleged irregularities and corrupt deals in the Indiramma housing scheme. Out of 6.97 lakhs Indiramma houses were sanctioned this year, the work on 1,68,870 houses have been completed while the work on 24.68 lakh houses were at different levels of construction, he added.
The Housing Minister said that the houses under Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) would be sanctioned to only SCs, STs and Minorities this year. |
