Temple
Architecture:
The temple shows a typical blend of different styles of Indian temple Architecture.
The galigopuram called the Rajagopuram, which greets the visitors at the entrance, is
built in the South Indian style. The tower or gopuram over the main shrine or garbhagudi
called the Jagadananda Vimanam is built in the Orissan style. While the towers over the
associated shrines are built in the South India style.
A number of lofty steps leads the visitor to the sanctum
sanctorum. Along the winding path are many a marble statue of gods and goddesses of Hindu
mythology located in the midst of the verdant gardens, full of blossoms.
There are several marble carvings depicting the scenes of
Indian mythology, in the adjoining mukha mandapams. The temple has a brass
flagstaff, the dhwajasthambha rising to a height of 42 feet that is now plated
with gold. The temple is flood lit at the nighttime presenting an arresting sight.
