HYDERABAD CENTRAL UNIVERSITY (HCU)
About the university :
The University of Hyderabad was
established on 2nd October, 1974 as a Central University wholly financed by the University
Grants Commission.
The University campus spreads
over about 2,300 acres, 20 kms from the city of Hyderabad on the old Hyderabad -
Bombay road. The campus is supported by several academic needs like facilities
of residential requirements, buildings etc. The University also has a city campus - `The
Golden Threshold' -which is in Nampally donated by late Sarojini Naidu. A Centre for Folk
Culture Studies established with financial support from the Ford Foundation also functions
from the Golden Threshold under the sponsorship of the Sarojini Naidu (S.N.) School.
