Admission Notice for M.B.B.S.
Course-Session 1999-2000
Applications are invited in the prescribed form supplied by this institute for admission
to First M.B.B.S. Course (Session 1999-2000) commencing from July, 1999, against the
following categories of seats: -
1. Open General (14)
2. Open Scheduled Caste (8)
3. Open Scheduled Tribe (4)
4. Punditry General (15)
5. Punditry Scheduled Caste (5)
Candidates fulfilling the following conditions only need apply.
Age: - Should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 1st July,
1999, i.e., should have been born before 2nd July, 1982.
Qualification: - Should have passed or currently appearing for Higher
Secondary Certificate Examination under 10+2+3 pattern with Physics, Chemistry, Biology
(Botany & Zoology) as subjects of study of equivalent examination subject to
recognition by the Pondicherry University.
Requisitions for supply of application form and prospectors by post should each the
Assistant Registrar (Academic), JIPMER, Pondicherry-605006, on or before 7th April, 1999,
alongwith a Crossed Demand Draft for Rs.100/- (Rupees One hundred only) drawn in favour of
"ACCOUNTS OFFICER, JIPMER" payable at bank of Baroda, Pondicherry or at State
Bank of India (Main Branch, Pondicherry or JIPMER Branch, Pondicherry). Please ensure that
the Bank Draft bears to code No.of the issuing Branch and Draw Branch, as well as
signatures of the Bank Officials and the amount written both in Figures and words.
The requisitions should also accompany a self-addressed envelope of size 30×22 cm. with
Postage stamp to the value of Rs.24/- affixed on it.
The requisitions by post along with Demand Draft will be accepted upto 7th April, 1999
only. For supply of Prospectus, Check/Postal Order/Money Order will not be accepted. This
institute will not be responsible for any postal delay in receipt of Prospectus by the
Candidates and further correspondence if any. Application and Prospectus can also be
obtained in person at the Institute's Office on payment of Rs.100/- in
Cash till 05th May, 1999 (Wednesday) on all working days during office hours.
The last date for receipt of filled in applications is Wednesday the 05th May, 1999.
Applications received after the due date will be summarily rejected.
The Entrance Examination will be conducted on Sunday the 6th June, 1999 from 10.00 A.M. to
12.30 P.m.
