MBBS Course for the academic year 2005-2006

DURATION
4 1/2 years plus 1 year compulsory rotating internship.

ELIGIBILITY
CITIZENSHIP : Indian Nationals.

DATE OF BIRTH : Only those whose date of birth falls on or before 31.12.88 are eligible to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS : Pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

ADMISSIONS

GENERAL CATEGORY: Admissions are on the basis of rank in the all India MAHE Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET 05).

FOREIGN/NRI CATEGORY: Admissions under this category are handled by a separate office.

Candidates can apply either under General or Foreign/NRI category. Those submitting under both the categories will not be considered for admission. Change of category at a later stage will not be entertained under any circumstances. The application material given along with this prospectus can only be used to apply for these courses under the General Category.

UGET 05
SCHEDULE - Sunday, 24.04.05

TEST PATTERN - All candidates are required to write the paper 1 of multiple choice questions of the objective type of UGET 05. The question paper will be in English.


Paper I: 240 questions (Physics - 60 questions, Chemistry - 60 questions, Biology - 60 questions, English & General Aptitude - 60 questions). Duration - 3 hours (9 a m to 12 p m).

SYLLABI FOR UGET 05
The test papers in Physics, Chemistry, General English and Biology includes questions based on the 10+2 syllabus followed by major 10+2 Boards/Universities. Detailed Syllabi can be obtained from the Syllabi section.

HALL TICKET
The Hall Ticket will be despatched only by Certificate of Posting or Business Mail so as to reach the candidates by 05.04.05. In case the Hall Ticket is not received by the above date, follow the instructions mentioned in the Hall Ticket Procedure section to obtain a Duplicate Hall Ticket.

MERIT LIST
Based on the marks obtained in UGET 05, MAHE will declare the merit list of all candidates who have appeared for the entrance test. The merit list will be displayed on 23.05.05 on the notice board of MAHE and the website. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks, the inter-se merit of such candidates will be determined on the basis of higher marks in the order.

APPLICATION : Candidates can apply to MAHE courses using any of the following 2 options:

OPTION 1: Candidates have the option of paying the application and entrance test fee through Credit Card or Demand Draft. Click here for applying online.

OPTION 2: The application material can be purchased from MAHE Admissions office by writing to the following address by enclosing a request along with a Demand Draft for Rs.300 drawn in the name of MAHE made payable at Manipal or Udupi or Bangalore. Clearly mention the course and your complete postal address (include PIN, Telephone Number and Email address) in your application:
