Admission to 17 Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) located in different States is
regulated as per procedure notified by the Department of Education (Ministry of Human
Resource Development) New Delhi in January/February. The prescribed application forms for
admission to undergraduate degree courses in Engineering are issued by respective RECs.Allocation of seats: Each REC has reserved 50% seats for the
students of the state in which it is located and the rest 50% seats are for students
belonging to other states, according to quota fixed for each state on the basis of its
population.
You may obtain the application form from
the Principal of the REC, having jurisdiction over the area from which you have passed the
qualifying exam. One form is sufficient for applying for admission to the Regional
Engineering College of your area under reserved quota seats and for admission to the other
RECs in the country against seats meant for candidates from are required to be filled in
coursewise. The jurisdiction of the RECs is indicated below :

Civil (50), Chemical (30 seats) Computer Sc (60), Electronics & Commun (60), Elec
& Electronics (30), Mechanical (50) Metallurgical (30).
Eligibility: Those who have passed Intermediate exam (10+2) of the Board of Inter
Education of A.P. with Maths and Physical Sciences (Phys & Chem) as optional subjects
or equivalent exam. They should have passed in English.
Selection is made on the basis of merit in State level EAMCET.
Reservation of seats: 15% for SC, 71/2% for ST & 25% for Backward Communities
(REC, Warangal Quota) Children of Armed Force Personnel 2% Handicapped 1/2%. NCC 1%,
Sports 1/2% Other States 155 seats Govt. of India nominees 20 seats (Foreign Students).
Hostel facilities are available for boys & girls separately.
How to Apply: Those who pass qualifying exam from Andhra Pradesh and candidates
belonging to Andhra Pradesh who pass qualifying exam form outside India are required to
appear for the Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET).
