Best time to visit:Around the yearThe white marbled marvelous edifice stands atop the twin rocky hillocks of
Kalapahad over looking Tank Bund gracing the entire city with its exuberance. This
temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara.The main deity is nine and half feet tall and
made of granite brought from Phirangipuram in Guntur district.The temple is made up of
pure white marble, brought from Rajasthan. It has intricate carvings and the scenes from
Ramayana and Mahabharata finely sculpted in marble.All this speaks of the dexterity and
sculptural excellence of the craftsmen.The Birla Mandir is a spectacular sight when
illuminated in the evening. A number of lofty steps, along the winding path leads the
visitors to the main deity.On the way, there are many marble statues of Hindu mythology
located in the midst of verdant gardens full of blossoms. Yes! This is Birla Mandir
a beautiful blend of the northern and southern styles of architecture.
The temple is open for visitors from 7 am to 12 am and 3 pm to 9 pm all days of the
week.Visitors visiting this place can see a magnificent and panoramic view of the twin
cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and enjoy the cool breeze from Hussain Sagar. |
