Eyes are probably the most important part of the body, as an
organ of sight and also a beautiful sight for others to see. Hence taking care of our eyes
is vital both from the health point of view as well as beauty.
Several factors like studying in improper
or inadequate light, staying for long hours in an overly brightly lit room, using
extremely hot water to wash hair, watching T.V. at close quarters or working on computers
for long periods slowly weaken eyesight. Other problems associated with eyes are
puffiness, crow's feet and dark circles.
However, simple eye exercises, coupled with a nutritious diet will help strengthen your
eyes, and keep them looking beautiful.
Here are some useful hints to help you care for your eyes:
- The skin around the eyes is thin and
delicate. Applying heavy or rich creams around eyes aggravates puffiness. Hence, left
alone at night the skin around the eyes retains more elasticity and does not get stretched
unnecessarily.
- Puffiness is generally noticed more in the
morning and the easiest way to reduce it is to cut a slice of potato and place it over
closed eyelids for 5 ins.
-
- For wrinkles and fine lines around the
eyes, the most important rule is to not overdo any treatment.
- Apply all face packs and masks away from
the eye area.
- Use only light oils near the eye area and
very delicately. The area above the eye should also be treated in the same way as the
under eye as this area is also delicate.
- Crows feet at the sides of the eyes
require constant pampering as they have lost is resilience.
Try these great compresses for your
eyes

or cotton and place it on both the eyes for 5 minutes. This helps reduce dark circles and
puffiness.
2) Grate half a cucumber and mix with 2
tsp. of buttermilk. Make a compress out of the mixture and place on eyelids. Relax for 5
minutes. This pack cools and relaxes tired eyes
